This, the penultimate day of the Challenge, will be a pretty special day in many ways. Starting on the Piha Road the route takes us through the heart of my old stomping ground, the Waitakere Ranges, where I have run countless thousands of kilometres over the years. It will take in some of the roughest bush tracks on offer anywhere as it traverses the Ranges' highest point before finally breaking out of the bush at Titirangi on the outskirts of Auckland. From here it's mostly downhill on a mix of pavement and urban trails, picking up the coast again at Westhaven Marina and finishing at the Ferry Building in time to catch the boat to Motutapu for the Partners Life DUAL.
Important Notes
Support runners need to be self-sufficient in regards to transport to the start and back from the finish.
