Starting from the Lake Karapiro dam we will run south on roads to the northern entrance of the Maungatautari Ecological Island. From here we take to the bush trail, up and over Maungatautari itself, traverse the ridge to Pukeatua and out to the village of the same name. From there another section of road takes us to Arapuni on the Waikato River, where we pick up the river trail and follow it north for 13 kms to the day's end.
IMPORTANT NOTES
Support runners need to be self-sufficient in regards to transport to the start and back from the finish. While we MAY be able to offer some assistance this CANNOT be guaranteed.
