Description
See Rangitoto Peak on NZ topo maps
Also known as Whakapoungakau Trig, this peak is a short detour from the route of the world-famous Tarawera Ultramarathon, an event I have competed in 4 times and which holds a special place in my heart. So I am delighted to be running a part of the course on race day, starting along with 1,000 other runners at the Redwoods, Rotorua and finishing at Lake Okataina.
If you'd like be a part of this special day you can help us by running the Tarawera Ultra as a fundraiser for our cause. You don't have to do anything special on the day, other than buy and wear one of our beautiful red High Five-0 shirts. You can enter any of the events - Team Relay, 60k, 85k or 100k - and run your own race just as you would have done anyway. But the satisfaction that you have from achieving your personal goals will be doubled by knowing you have used the race to raise $ for an important cause.
Just click the 'run this day' button above and join the team as we pull together to achieve something pretty remarkable.
Important Notes
You will need to enter the race in order to join this day.
