Description
This day will be interchangeable with Day 39, depending on the weather
Starting from North Egmont Visitor Centre, for most of the day we will follow the classic Pouakai Circuit. An out-and-back side trip from the high point of this loop goes higher again to gain the summit of Pouakai itself. And after completing the Circuit we will run out to the Egmont Road with a big descent down the Ahukawakawa Track, making it a 'Classic +' day in the wonderland environs of the Taranaki NP.
Important Notes
Support runners need to be self-sufficient in regards to transport to the start and back from the finish. While we MAY be able to offer some assistance this CANNOT be guaranteed.
