Another Great Walk - the Tongariro Northern Circuit - with an ascent of Ngauruhoe thrown in for good measure. Starting and finishing from The Chateau and travelling in a clockwise direction around the mountain, the ascent of Ngauruhoe comes quite early in the day. With a fantastic scree run back down to the South Crater it's all downhill from there - not!
A tough but rewarding day in a landscape unlike any other.
Important Notes
Support runners need to be self-sufficient in regards to transport to the start and back from the finish. While we MAY be able to offer some assistance this CANNOT be guaranteed.
Confidence on loose rock and steep slopes, as well as a good head for heights are essential for this day.
