The Journey
Description
See Mt. Hector on NZ topo maps
This day will see us taking part in the fabled Tararua Mountain Race (the Southern Crossing course) - one of NZ's longest standing, and toughest, mountain races. From Kaitoke to Otaki Forks, across the Tararuas and over Mt. Hector, this is the stuff of legends and not a day for those that are strangers to hard yakka. Hmmm, was this really such a good idea?
Important Notes
To run this day you will need to enter the Tararua Mountain Race. You will then have the choice of running it at your own (race) pace or toddling along with Mal towards the rear end of the field!
Support runners need to be self-sufficient in regards to transport to the start and back from the finish. While we MAY be able to offer some assistance this CANNOT be guaranteed.
